Shelly's Hope Scholarship Fund

Shelly's Story

Shelly was deeply committed to Christian education.  She attended Christian schools in Grand Rapids, and became a special education teacher in Zeeland, MI.  She touched the lives of hundreds of children with special needs, and wanted all children to have access to Christian education.  Shelly bravely battled breast cancer before she passed away on January 1, 2007.

The Scholarship

To honor Shelly's memory and to help her continue to impact students' lives, a private donor has established a scholarship fund at Ann Arbor Christian School.  Every year, one student will be awarded a scholarship for two years.  The award will be based on financial need and the family's desire for Christian education.

Application Process
  • To apply, you will need to complete an application form and file a parent financial statement with School and Student Service for Financial Aid in Princeton, NJ.  These forms are also available in the school office.  Please contact Jan Musch, AACS' financial administrator, for assistance in filling out and filing these forms.
  • As part of the application, families are asked questions about why they value Christian education.
  • Applications are due in the office by April 15.
  • A special board administering the funds will review applications.
  • Families are typically notified by May 15.
  • Recipients can reapply for the scholarship.
Growing the Fund

AACS would like to offer more scholarships to students.  Please consider making a tax-deductible contribution to this scholarship fund.
